Registerering as a patient at Smile
We are delighted that you have enquired
about joining us, and hope to exceed your expectations of dental
care.
We hope that this website has answered many
questions you might have. Feel free to contact us if there is anything
else you wish to know.
What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit to us is usually a full
assessment. This appointment is a crucial foundation to your care
with us, and for this reason we would ask you to allow about an
hour for it and arrive a few minutes earlier than your appointment
time.
During this time: -
- you will be asked to complete a few
necessary forms
- we will spend time listening to your
queries and concerns and discuss some of the things that may affect
your dental health
- we will examine your mouth fully (including
mouth cancer screening) and make various recordings to allow us
to establish the baseline of your oral health
- we may take some x-rays as needed
- we will explain all our findings and
discuss your future care
Should treatment be required, all options
and costs will be openly discussed, and you will be given a computerised
estimate and treatment plan. You will not be obliged to continue
with us in any way if you are not happy at the end of this visit.
If your treatment needs are particularly complex, we may ask you
to attend a shorter second visit to plan things in more detail.
If you are particularly anxious about attending,
we will be sympathetic and will take time to chat about your fears,
and plan a way forward with you. In time, we have found people can
overcome those fears and actually enjoy coming to see us.
All in all, we hope you leave your first
visit feeling fully informed about your dental status and happy
with our service.
How to Register as a patient at Smile
To register with us please download the
registration form (Links below), complete it and return it to us
by post or by e-mail. One of our team will contact you to arrange
a convenient time for your consultation. It is our policy to request
payment for this assessment at the time of booking to secure your
appointment time. This can be arranged over the telephone by credit
or debit card or by sending us a cheque, payable to Smile.
I have a dentist already. Can I register
to have some treatments that they do not offer?
For patients wishing to have some treatments
that we offer at Smile that are not available to them from their
current dentist e.g. tooth whitening, cosmetic treatments or dental
implants, we request that in addition to completing the registration
form, you ask your dentist for a letter of referral to us.
If you have any questions about registration
at Smile, please feel free to call one of our team who will be happy
to help.
We are a fully private dental practice who wishes to provide a relaxing and caring environment for patients where they feel at ease and genuinely cared for. We aim to build a relationship with each patient to increase their awareness about their oral health and work together to improve their smile. We strive to provide excellent quality dentistry, using what we believe to be the best materials, equipment and techniques aided by ongoing learning for the whole dental team. If your needs fall outside of our area of expertise then we may suggest referral to a specialist, for example orthodontic treatment or complex root fillings.
Our practice opening hours are Monday to Thursday 8am – 8pm and Friday 8am – 4pm, this is to help accommodate our patients who have busy working lives.
