About Smile Dental Centre

Smile Dental Centre is the creation of two like-minded dentists, Sharon Daniels and Joanna Sutcliffe. Sharon qualified at Guy’s Dental School in 1992 and Joanna at Bristol Dental School in 1995. They have many years experience working in private dental practice providing high quality dentistry and have focused their careers on combining clinical excellence with the ultimate in patient care. Together they form a dedicated, enthusiastic partnership.

Smile Dental Centre is an innovative, thoughtfully created practice designed to our exacting standards by an award-winning architect. It's ideal location, on-site parking and longer opening hours make access to excellent dental care convenient for all.

General Information

Facilities – We pride ourselves in providing a comfortable and relaxing environment for our patients to wait, with a variety of up to date magazines for both adults and children alike. We are also able to offer you a selection of hot and cold beverages from our hospitality area. We also have a selection of children’s toys to make their wait more entertaining.

We are pleased to be able to tell you that our practice is accessible to both wheelchairs and pushchairs. The practice is all on one level and our washrooms are also wheelchair friendly. We also offer baby changing facilities on request.

Confidentiality – Patients confidentiality at our practice is taken seriously and all information about our patients is treated with the strictest of confidence in accordance with our practice policy.

Comments and feedback – We hope that you are entirely satisfied with your experience at Smile and that you would be happy to recommend our services to others. If however, you are not we would ask you to tell us so that we are able to rectify the issue and improve the service we provide. You can request a copy of the practice complaints procedure from our Practice Organiser who will be happy to deal with any concerns you may have.

Safety Measures - We are proud that we go to great lengths to provide your dental care in complete safety.
We carefully follow all the latest health & safety guidelines of the British Dental Association and the General Dental Council. Some of the measures we take are outlined below: -

Cross-Infection Control

These measures protect you and our team against infections such as Hepatitis & HIV. We have summarised our protocol which is available for you to see upon request.

X-rays

The taking of radiographs (X-ray films) is a necessary part of accurate diagnosis in dentistry. We can reassure you that we only take them when clinically necessary and use the latest techniques & equipment to keep X-ray exposure to a minimum. Dental X-ray doses are very tiny compared to a standard chest X-ray (~100th the dose). We can obtain copies of any of your recent radiographs if relevant, to avoid repetition.

First Aid & Basic Life Support Skills

The whole team undergoes regular training twice a year to act competently in the unlikely event of a minor or major medical emergency.
